A computer is a tool, and like all tools a computer's effectiveness is dependent on how you wield it. Hans Hyttinen and I thought it'd be beneficial for the Columbia community to have a central resource for computer-related knowledge and tutorials. Enter HackCU, an ADI-sponsored blog to help promote technological literacy at Columbia by providing useful How-Tos and other neat tidbits of knowledge to help students take back control of their machines and put them to good use.

Reuben Doetsch and Moses Nakamura have been kind enough to submit tutorials on installing Columbia printers and forwarding your Columbia email to a web-based email client, and we're have many more in the works. If you have a tutorial idea, or would like to see a particular topic covered in detail, get in touch. We hope HackCU will be a resource for all Columbia students, from the computer novice to the *nix guru. If you would like to assist with the administrative details, contact Hans or myself.
